Each of us has a calling, a destiny that calls us forward in our lives. As we look back in time we can see the seeds of who we are, the seeds that brought us to our selves today. Naming ourselves brings us closer to the truth of ourselves: taking the acorn to the sapling. Taking the name faerie' made our sapling stronger, more able to weather the developmental storms encountered on our journey to becoming the oak.

Just as all oaks are connected to the world tree, so are we all connected to each other and a deeper source.

And each tree is individual, unique, and called to grow in the way needed to thrive in its particular environment. Each oak has its own name, a source of personal power.
The naming ritual will take us into our hearts, the source of our connection, to ask for the name that will call us to the next step in our journey to self. Our names offer us lessons and a base in personal truth. They offer power for us as individuals, and when shared with chosen others, the power of collective trust. From the heart, our names may enter our conscious awareness to become tools for our whole being.

When we have learned our names we will celebrate our sharing of them as we close the ritual by proclaiming our faerie name gifts back to the universe.

To ensure harmony in this process of faerie evolution, this ritual is open to all who have taken the step from gay man' to faerie', or feel the time is now right to do so.

I instinctively chose a rock for a talisman, a reminder that words have weight.
