This fertile ground facilitates expressions of self which are less about ego, power, dominance, and control (although some may be stuck at this early part of the journey - space for this too); and more a welling up of individual creativity and exploration. What gifts do I bring? Perhaps the gift of voice, of nurturing through food, of dazzling displays of colour and form, of a quiet respect, of ensuring a beautiful backdrop to an event, of theatre, of the love of fellows. And what gifts am I able to receive? What of the no-strings appreciations coming my way? Will my heart truly break under the weight of such truths which my coping strategies of rationalization and denial seem ill-equipped to deal with in the face of simple faerie honesty?

All who come to a gathering leave with a lesson learned. A new insight, perhaps a renewed appreciation of our individual and collective struggles and the knowledge that we none of us are alone in them, although at times we may forget this. A sense of how truly magical men, faerie men, have the capacity to form a crucible of possibilities undreamed of in contemporary culture - oh how did our species ever forget the joy of magic? How does humankind survive in the West without this essential element of being?

Post-gathering comes the task of manifesting new learning in the world. Our unique expression of self in the many different worlds we inhabit cannot help but influence the larger culture. And this is, for me, the gift of Karma Yoga. Holding fast to my truth, and manifesting in the world in the form that is right for me, I find myself rewarded with greater understanding, insight and capacities for being. The periodic rejuvenation with faeries allows me to stay sane in an insane world.
