Emotionally immature, spiritually unprepared for the rigours of a vision quest, inspired by the power of drag, this fledgeling fell back on the ever-reliable expedient of rummaging through bins of previously-used names, trying on those that glitter for size - an irritating approach, though perversely pragmatic. The tedium of trying to keep track of the nom du jour alerts others that serious name-work is in order, and voilà names begin flying in your direction. So it happened, that one fine morning, anal Philip, in mid-flight of fulsome apology for a two-minute lapse of punctuality, stops to ponder the following: "Your name should be Geneva". ... Hmmm, sounds promising ... I like it.

Accessories, even of nomenclature, can be added and adjusted as required. In chatting drag technique with others on The Path, there was some agreement that dynamic effects can be achieved when items are used in ways other than they were originally intended. ... 'Try it backwards' ... 'or on your head!' At any rate, Geneva provided the foundation. A sloppy application of intoxicants uncovered scraps of memory. These, stitched-up into impersonations, led to rambles through old TV scenes and treks into the frozen wastes of Canadian Cultural History (all very amusing at the time), culminating in a florid and perhaps excessively robust name. Precisely: Genève Besoins (of Swisherland), the beautiful (and much younger) twin sister of Madame Jehane Benoit; but please, you can call me, Geneva. I leave the detailed elucidation of the breadth and refinement of this assemblage to another time faithful reader, but trust me on this ... as a name, it's pure drag. No hints of pagan reverence here, nor echoes of Gaia's faire forme.

So where's the architecture? I'm building myself a cabin. It's much too small for a house, but it's turning out to be a very fancy cabin. It's quite open to the elements, not really a gazebo, since it includes an enclosed area that will at times be warm and cozy. I call it a summer pavillion (I don't imagine that I made up the notion): - a structure for enjoyment of summer's pleasures; dry when it rains, protected from insects. A functional structure that charms the eye, sited in harmony with its surroundings. A piece of living sculpture. It's a temple, in a style that primly evokes the virtues of the classical era and summons forth vaguely unsettling recollections of dark antiquity. A historical pastiche - snatches of Tara - allusions to faded times of indolence, and the airy decadence of society folk, languidly taking their summer ease in the cool benevolence of a woodsy glade - an intoxicating folly of fussy details, teetering dangerously on the brink of a chasm of cute - a monument to particular precision, a fit dwelling for Geneva. The Temple of Dildo, anal shrine, a part of Amber Fox and apart. Drag architecture ... I like it.
